Damon Parker
Damon is the Chairman and founding director of Harcus Sinclair UK Limited. He has established the firm's innovative approach to litigation case management and litigation funding and is a recognized market leader. He was listed in The Lawyer’s Hot 100 in 2016 and is recommended in Chambers & Partners as one of the leading practitioners in his field which notes that he "is very balanced. He takes everything in his stride and exudes confidence, which is good for the client."
He represents a diverse range of private and corporate clients reflecting the breadth of the firm's litigation practice. Damon has extensive experience representing claimants in large group actions in financial services litigation with a particular focus on shareholder disputes and investment loss claims. Alongside this, Damon also maintains a thriving contentious trust, probate and tax practice.
Damon is head of the legal team acting for a large number of institutional and retail investors in their claim against the directors of Lloyds Bank and Lloyds Banking Group for breaches of fiduciary duty in relation to Lloyds TSB's acquisition of HBOS in 2009.
He is a regular speaker on securities litigation and corporate governance and has made multiple presentations to institutional investors including speaking at the Institutional Shareholder Services Annual Conference in Miami and the ISS Securities Class Action Service conference in New York during 2015. Damon has also appeared on CNBC in connection with the Lloyds-HBOS litigation.
Damon is on the board of AMAR an award winning charity that works in the middle east, building and improving the lives and livelihoods of some of the world’s poorest and disadvantaged people. Damon also plays an active part in the management of the Elliot Foundation, a charitable multi-academy trust specialising in primary academies.
