Our private client base is wide. Our clients include those with inherited wealth from landed estates as well as entrepreneurs and professionals from the United Kingdom and abroad. Approximately half of our work is offshore.
We are increasingly involved in our clients’ commercial affairs, creating structures for their business interests, both domestically and abroad. This trend reflects an increased tendency for international commercial interests to be structured through offshore trusts to optimise tax mitigation and to safeguard the devolution of business wealth.
The core of our work is advice on the establishment of trusts and companies to save tax and to protect families from the effects of commercial misfortune or divorce. Many of these arrangements take effect on death and so are implemented through strategic will drafting and post-death variations; other clients transfer assets to protective structures during their lifetimes.
We also conduct UK and international trust and probate litigation and advise on complex UK and international court-approved variations of wills and family trusts.
Harcus Sinclair is recommended in both the
Legal 500 and
