James Harcus is one of the UK’s leading family law practitioners. His broad practice is UK and internationally based. James specialises in advising high profile matrimonial matters, including divorce, matrimonial finance and taxation, children and pre-marital contracts. He has a particular expertise in cases involving trusts and pensions and conflicts between different jurisdictions.

For 15 years he was a senior partner of Gordon Dadds and for six years a partner at Withers, before leaving to establish Harcus Sinclair where he is now a consultant. He is a fellow of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and a founding member and former treasurer of Resolution. He is recommended in the 2009 edition of Chambers & Partners as a leading individual in his field and is ranked in the top five most influential people in the law in London, in the Evening Standard's 'The 1000: London's Most Influential People 2007'.
