Catherine specialises in advising international high net-worth individuals and wealthy families, with a particular focus on cross-border succession planning.
Until joining Harcus Sinclair, Catherine spent some years running a specialist law practice in Italy focused on the English legal needs of British nationals with interests in Italy, and Italian nationals with legal needs in England. Whilst primarily a private client lawyer, she provided property and commercial legal advice as well as advice on trusts and estate planning, due to the location of her practice on Lake Como between the Italian business centre of Milan and the Swiss town of Lugano.
Catherine trained at Allen & Overy, qualifying as a solicitor into the private client department in 1998, where she focused on trusts, charity law and advising high net-worth individuals, both British and foreign. In 2000 she joined Freshfields and was seconded to its Rome office, before re-joining Allen & Overy in its Rome office in 2001 where she focused on debt capital markets work. In 2010 Catherine set up her own practice in Como. She joined Harcus Sinclair in 2016.
