Dixons Carphone hacking results in major data breach

Dixons Carphone has admitted that the retailer has been the subject of a huge data breach potentially affecting many millions of people. The widely-reported breach has resulted in personal information including customers’ credit card records being accessed by hackers.

Dixons is expected to begin writing to affected customers over the next few days.

This latest breach comes just months after the Information Commissioner’s Office fined Carphone Warehouse £400,000 for historical breaches dating back to 2015.
