Harcus Sinclair announces the firm’s conversion to Harcus Sinclair LLP

On 6 April 2016, Harcus Sinclair became a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP).  The change will have no immediate effect on the service that clients receive or on the working practices of the professionals in the firm.  Over time, however, the LLP structure will provide the firm with a more modern, flexible corporate structure within which to invest in the firm’s development and to attract high-quality professionals.

Harcus Sinclair LLP will continue to be referred to as “Harcus Sinclair” on a day-to-day basis.  In addition, the former partners, while technically now “members” of the new LLP structure, will continue to be referred to as partners as this is better understood in the marketplace and reflects the continuing partnership ethos of the firm.

Conversion to LLP status has become increasingly common in the legal profession. The Limited Liability Partnership Act 2000 enables professional services organisations to incorporate into a Limited Liability Partnership which is a business structure which sits midway between a Limited Company and a traditional Partnership.
